Thanks to my patient for sharing her procedure so we can all learn more about this chronic condition called Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Chronic inflammation can lead to scar tissue and irregular pore formation. These pores can fill will dead skin and oils and form keratin plugs that can oxidize and harden. These plugs can feel like splinters in the skin, they can be itchy, painful, and can lead to pressure build up that can lead to abscesses that are painful and cause scars.
